I'm a middle school science teacher, wrestling coach, poker player, scuba diver, aikido black belt, amateur writer, and student of life. In the past I have tried to give back a little by volunteering at a children's home in Belmopan, Belize, Central America. I also love Frosted Flakes. I took a year-long sabbatical from my science teaching position in order to sail the Caribbean, retired from teaching in Indiana and now teach at a Honolulu middle school.

Loop For Life

Rode in the Loop For Life yesterday and had a great time. Riding under an enormous American flag suspended between two fire trucks overlooking I465 with thousands of other bikes was an amazing experience!

A little remodeling

My poker posts have taken a hiatus lately. School is starting next week and there are a couple of projects I'd like to get completed before it begins. Remodeling my home office is something I wanted to get done this summer and it's now a done deal. There was a big, open closet that took accordion doors that I really didn't like, so I enclosed the wall and put on a normal door.

I REALLY don't like painting, but I bought some really good paint and it covered so well that I have enough left to paint both of my bathrooms. The house looks great!

As far as poker goes, I have final-tabled three more RUSH tournaments lately.

Volunteer trip

I just got home from a long trip to Belize, Central America where I again volunteered at the King's Children Home. I'll post some more pictures soon :-)
